THE SCOTSMAN - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

"...purposefully swinging and waspish...gloriously wanton outpourings. Leighton-Thomas oozes slinky menace...luscious slow blues...stingy guitar and rippling tenor sax...

Marlbank - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

"Above all what a grown-up, literary, sensual and authoritative return to the recording studio from Leighton-Thomas who remains a mysterious presence on the UK jazz scene and that mystery tantalises that bit more. Linger long."

"Pianist Wallace combined with Landesman to add the music to many of her lyrics and the result is surely the greatest pairing of words and music since Rodgers and Hart."

Mojo Magazine - ***

"Leighton-Thomas's poise, power and control contrast smartly with Previn's fragile, troubled muse on unvarnished confessionals..."  ANDY COWAN - MOJO

"...admirable and quite startling... Leighton-Thomas takes command of these dark, often harrowing stories and creates her own emotional narrative..."

October 2020

Oh lucky me to have sung backing vocals on this beautiful album produced by John Reynolds.  All original songs written and performed by Padraig Jack.  I feature on two tracks, 'Minnie' and the title track 'Making Sand' where I had to sing in Gaelic! Padraig was supposed to do a gig in London April 2020... hopefully something to look forward to in 2021... especially as I haven't met him yet :)
